If you’re looking for something free to do on your visit to San Francisco, the Sea Lion Viewing platform is a great choice.  These chubby creatures are loud, sleepy, and playful.  They hang out here all year long so there are no bad times to visit. They are protected by the Marine Mammal Act so you can only look at them.   To find out more information about sea lions visit the Sea Lion Center (free) where a volunteer can tell you all about these giant sea dogs.
