Catch a Rainbow at Mesa Falls

Make sure to stop here on your way to Yellowstone National Park.  Underneath these waterfalls are old remains of volcanic eruptions.  This is a great place to stretch your legs with a fun taxidermy exhibit at the Mesa Falls visitor center and well maintained trails.  There’s a nice boardwalk path to the main attraction, Upper Mesa Falls that is only 0.6 walking distance with many viewpoints.  This is an easy place to get a nice picture of yourself with a waterfall and not get wet.   On a sunny day,  you might be able to see a rainbow.  After visiting Upper Mesa Falls, there’s Lower Mesa Falls at a different parking lot.   You’ll need binoculars or a telephoto lens to get a close up shot.
