The Borax Visitor Center
14486 Borax Rd, Boron, CA 93516
Free
9 a.m. to 5 p.m every day

This attraction is dedicated to borax, a white mineral powder used in various cleaning products.  The visitor center is a perfect rest stop if you’re headed to Las Vegas or Death Valley from Bakersfield.  Facilities are super clean and there are many things to see and learn for 30 minutes. Here you’ll be able to see an active borax mine and take some odd roadside attraction pics.
